Sampling and Sinc Reconstruction

Signal: x(t) = sin(2π f t), plotted on t ∈ [0,1]. Samples at t = mTs, Ts = 1/fs.

1) Continuous-time signal with samples

2) Samples (stem plot)

3) Sinc reconstruction

Observations:
  1. The reconstructed signal matches the original signal at the sampling instances for any sampling frequency.
  2. Sinc interpolation gives perfect reconstruction if the sampling frequency is at least twice the bandwidth of the signal.
